SUCCESS STORIES FROM STUDENTS

HELPED THROUGH BEACON OF HOPE AND JOY

A story from one of the kids helped by Beacon of Hope & Joy

I grew up in a wonderful family. I always thought life is an all rosy excursion, until when I was 4 years old, and my parents divorced. My memories are so vivid like it was yesterday. Life changed drastically for me and my siblings. We were separated from each other. My dad did not treat us well. As time passed, my biological mother passed away. I began to seek the Lord more for strength. Life became so miserable because there was no one to look after us.

Time passed by and the director of Beacon of Hope and Joy, Mrs. Joyce Muchechetere, with the help from her friends and a group called Beacon of Hope and Joy in USA began paying for our tuition for school. This brought a lot hope in my life to know that I can still achieve my dreams despite my parents being gone.

I attained a diploma in sound engineering and a certificate in Portuguese as a foreign language.

Since that time I now understand and know God in a way that I never knew Him before. Right now Mrs. Joyce is back in Zimbabwe and has been teaching us a number of things which include learning more about the Lord, grooming, personal hygiene and good morals. I also volunteer with some of Beacon of Hope and Joy work while I look for a job which is hard to come by. I am looking forward to moving on with my education and attain a degree with an international recognized university, if the finances are available.

But above all I would like to thank all members of Beacon of Hope and Joy for their support for the upkeep of vulnerable kids in Zimbabwe. Now they can look forward to a better life in years to come.

From – Forever grateful kid

BOHJ has supported some children who couldn’t attend school for a period of time as the teachers had left or the increase in cost had become prohibitive. These students are the leaders of the future. They have studied on their own and passed their exams into the next grade with flying colors. But without the funds for text books and tests this could never have happened.

Conrad Myambo is one of these students. He is highly motivated and intelligent. He is seeking more assistance to go to a better school where he can learn from qualified teachers.

BOHJ is embracing God's love and hope for children in abandonment and poverty through
educational assistance, spiritual nourishment, and developing live and leadership skills.
